Diary Of An FM

My basic idea for this was "Make it scary"
My goal was "Increase sales of underwear due to unfortunate accidents brought on by heart pounding horror".


Day 1 (2-Oct-05) (days are not consecutive)

Progress so far:
Right the editor is installed, and all looks good, I get to work and build a basic large rectangle that will be the basis of the dock area. I texture the floor with a nice cobble texture and the walls and ceiling with stars.
I then render it and go into the game.....I'm in a box!! Granted its a large one, but it looks like a box from the inside, not a docks....hmmm a rethink is in order...
2 hours later, I discover the BF texture (a transparent one). I have also discovered how to build a skybox so in go a few props and a nice dose of cloud, a few tweaks and into game we go....
Now that's more like it...


Achievement of Goal:
Erm...my underwear is still clean, pulse rate has not quickend yet.

Day 2 (4-Oct-05)

Progress so far: I start with fresh idea's, a new way to look at the FM and a mass of notes.
I finish with an empty bar, some streetlights and a few more props....
However I have attempted to master gravity...I can now float 6 inches above the floor , unfortunately no AI seem to be able to do the same...they fall to the floor and in most cases through it.
After A while I manage to get an AI to float, not how I would like but at least it floats, I need to learn more about linkages.

Achievement of Goal:
Underwear still clean (new pair), however my pulse did quicken when going into the game and finding all my AI drop to the floor in front of me....HELP I'm trapped in a room with no doors and a bunch of angry AI yelling and screaming at me!!!

Day 3 (7-Oct-05)

Progress so far: After not having a great deal of luck with the AI I decide to focus on the set itself. In goes a ship, and the start of my museum (remember I am working as best as I can to real life buildings near me).

Achievement of Goal:
My pulse has gone back to normal and my fetching pair of black boxers are still black.

Day 4 (17-Oct-05)

Progress so far: Not much, GarrettLoader has taken a lot of time recently, I now have more AI in my inn and having tried several times to get an AI to sit on a table, only to fine their head poking through the floor in game, I decided to again focus on the architecture.

Achievement of Goal:
Erm I was actually laughing at my AIs walking on the tables and finding it quite fun to throw bottles at their heads...
